Calvin Leung set to make TV debut on ABC’s new reality TV show “The Piano”

Melbourne pianist Calvin Leung steps into the national spotlight with his television debut on ABC’s highly anticipated reality TV series, The Piano (Episode 2) this Sunday 11 May 2025 at 7.30pm on ABC TV, filmed at Southern Cross Station, Melbourne.

Hosted by Amanda Keller, the show brings together musical talent from across Australia, with secret judges Harry Connick Jr. and Andrea Lam scouting extraordinary pianists in unexpected locations.

Based on the hit UK series of the same name, The Piano celebrates raw, heartfelt performances from musicians whose artistry speaks louder than words.

Calvin, known for his emotive compositions and technical mastery, embraces this opportunity to share his music with a wider audience.

"Music has always been my way of connecting—with myself, with others, and now, with the world on this incredible platform," Calvin said.

"Performing in a space where raw talent is championed, where the piano itself becomes the storyteller, is an experience unlike any other."

The series, which has garnered widespread praise in the UK for its uplifting and deeply personal performances, promises to bring the same magic to Australian viewers.

"What makes The Piano special is its ability to uncover stories behind the music. It's not just about skill—it’s about heart, about passion. Every note we play carries something personal, something meaningful. That’s why this show is so powerful."

The premiere of “The Piano” the previous Sunday 4th May 2025 received over 1.1 million viewers.

Tune in to ABC this Sunday 11 May 2024 at 7,30pm to watch The Piano and witness Calvin Leung’s unforgettable performance or stream it online on ABC iView.
